Poolside by Eskayel

Oh Eskayel, you did it again!!

The new collection called Poolside is amazing, I want to dive right into it. The colors, the patterns, all of it...they are divine!

I will admit that the Dynasty paper is still my favorite. I have my powder room all ready for it, the ceiling is painted a high gloss blue black and every time I use it I think about this paper. I NEED this paper in my life. It has been the plan since day one, I even took the wainscoting in the space up to a 6' height to cut down on the rolls I would need...so you know people over at Eskayel, if you want an amazing space for your web site with the Dynasty paper in it drop me a line (hint hint). I promise to talk about your products non-stop and share the images with everyone under the sun.Kinda like I am doing now, but without the desperate undertone, haha.

So there is some eye candy for the day. Maybe I could just start a petition for the Hubs to get this paper, there is a tactic I haven't tried yet!! Mel xo

In Ten with Mary Ann from Classic Casual Home

So great to be visiting with you all at the beautiful "Veranda Interiors."
It's fun to check out Melissa's fab taste in lighting and hardware...
and the occasional mouthwatering recipe.
Why not set a pretty table and prepare her roasted vegetable and orzo salad?
By mixing and matching my limited tableware, I can come up with lots...
well,
at least TEN new looks.
See what I mean (this was over the last several months)...
The runner is from Pottery Barn.
I love the scalloped chargers that I got on vacation in Mexico.
The aqua Provencal placements, napkins and glasses are from Home Goods.
The shell canister and glass candle stick holders are from Pottery Barn.

I really like to "layer" the table.  Those flowers are from my small garden and the
green glasses are from Maison Midi and  and the rattan chargers are from Pier One.

The red table cloth is from the Long Beach, California flea market and I bought the red glasses
when we lived in Paris...there are those rattan chargers and ruffled plates again.

These bright green placemats are from Target.
This Portuguese table cloth is from Sur la Table.
Love these peonies.
Below I brought patio lanterns from Home Goods inside and used tiny vases in addition to a larger one.

Just mix it up and have fun.

Thanks, Melissa for having me over!

Upcoming Projects: Watermark & Altadore 3

Our next two projects are gearing up and excavation is going to commence soon on both of them, so this girl, right here...will.be.busy.
One is a custom home for amazing clients in a new community called Watermark. They are a young family with 4, yes, 4 boys so I want to make sure that what goes into this home will be boy proof yet stunning. With over 5500 Sq. Ft. of living space I want to ensure that each room is individual while it flows and works for the clients.
colors & materials to change

And the last of the trilogy, the final home in Altadore. This is the largest of the 3 with over 3400 Sq. Ft. of total living space. This is going up as a spec home so this means I get to have my hands all over this one. Hummmm...what to do, what to do?? Looks like I will be spending some time on Pinterest finding some great inspiration for both projects. Have a wonderful Monday! Mel xo

Update: Altadore II

OK, so remember the design boards I just posted last week HERE? Well, those are now getting re-worked since we have a firm sale on Altadore II as of this past weekend. It was a crazy crazy week filled with meetings and figuring out how to add the new clients design style to the home. Some elements will be staying and some will be going...first step is marble/granite selections this Wednesday.

Imagine a bit of Altadore I mixed with a bit of the concepts I had for Altadore II. Now off to work I go to make this happen! Mel xo

Updates: Altadore I

Here are some clips on the updates from Altadore I, it is coming along and I am seriously crushing on this home!!

{great room}
The fireplace wall came out so amazingly well, we are having a hearth top made out of Caesarstone and I know that will be the cherry on top!

{powder room}
The wall detail is going up and it is adding so much character to a small room that is typically ignored by many.

{hardware}
Seriously, look at that brass POP off of those stunning black doors.

{details}
Stairs are stained and the railing is being installed now (just wait till you see that!), the plumbing is also going in and la-la-loving it.

We are just a couple of weeks away from wrapping this home up and I am excited to get it all put together and showcased!! Mel xo

My new pet...

We have had her for a little over a week. So far no shedding, no leaking, and she is still alive. I love her and she brings so much joy, color, and character to our family room. Now I just need to find the perfect 'shoe' or container for her...

Any tips on keeping this new pet happy & healthy? Mel xo

Recipe: Roasted Veggie Orzo Salad

This is one of my all time favorite recipes and it is always raved about, so be sure to add this to your next dinner party menu!!
2 red peppers, diced into half inch pieces
1 eggplant, diced into half inch pieces
2 zucchini, diced into half inch pieces
1 red onion, diced into half inch pieces
1 C. toasted pine nuts
4 oz. goat cheese
1/2 C. basil
16 oz. orzo, cooked al dente

Dressing
3.5 T. good olive oil
3 T. pesto
2 T. red wine vinegar
2 T. fresh lime juice

Preheat the oven to 425. Combined all veggies with some olive oil, kosher salt, and coarse black pepper. Roast the veggies for 35 - 45 min, tossing occasionally. While the veggies are cooking you can cook the orzo as per the directions on the packaging. Whisk all of the dressing ingredients together and pour over the hot pasta so the flavors blend well. Once the veggies are done add to them to the pasta and mix well. Just before serving add the goat cheese, pine nuts, and basil.
This dish is best made the day before.
*You can add roasted or grilled shrimp to make this into a main course*

 Hope you make this and enjoy it as much as we do. I cannot make this too often...because I eat it all!! Mel xo
