Wexford II is all set and ready for the painters to move into the home, but of course we had to hit a road bump along the way...the island. I just did up a quick sketch for our carpenter and with that in his hand and a conversation he built what he thoguht we had discussed.
Lets just say he got it half right. I wanted a furniture look, an open shelve along the base, something airy and clean looking. After a few text messages back and forth and talk of a sledge hammer we came up with a solution. The next day we went by to see if he was still talking to me...and he is.
The finished product is below, after some TLC it came out perfect, I LOVE IT! The granite has been templated and I am off today to see the stain samples I had made up, fingers crossed one is bang on to what I am going for!
So all of the above went down on Friday of last week. And here is what went down on Saturday, do you see that, that my friends is a record snowfall, 30cm of fluff. We had to park on the street and hike up the drive to our house, at some points we were knee high in snow.
And in typicall Calgary fashion the next day, Sunday, was warm and sunny, so the white stuff started to melt which equals a big sloppy wet mess. The image below is the reason I own very few cute shoes in good shape. Needless to say my Hunters have been getting quiet the workout!!
Hope your day finds you well, hope the sun is shining for you!! Mel xo
