Wexford I
The home is at the finishing stage so that means a lot of action. All of the cabinetry that we do is truly custom, from the design to the product actually being built on site in the home in its raw state. Some would consider this 'old school' but we prefer it over pre-fab for so many reason, but that another post all together. We also do all of our hardwood floors on site, no pre-fab or engineered floors here. You want a specific color...I will make it happen. Here are a few tid bit from what is going on there.
Kitchen base is about 1/2 way there...
All of the vanities and framed mirrors are ready to be prepped and sprayed...
Here is a pic of the hardwood going it, it is now all laid (3" wide rustic maple) throughout the main level and upper level of the home, no carpet to be found.
Wexford II
Excavation...check. Footings...check. Foundation poured...check.
That is essentially where we are at on this home. By now the foundation walls have been stripped and the next step is to get all of the underground works in and then the back-fill. The framing should commence something in the coming week, so be sure to stay tuned so you can watch the pieces go together.
And while cruising the blogs yesterday I ran across THIS piece by VT Interiors, this is now my inspiration for the kitchen in the Wexford II home. Dark gray perimeter with a natural wood island. Still uncertain of the other materials as of now, but those selections will some in the next few weeks.

Excavation is complete and so are the footings. When the concrete was being poured I had to take the boys out to see the trucks and boom (the big stick looking thing that puts the concrete in its place).
I have already met with the clients for the granite selection, we have a good idea of the direction we are taking with it. This home is going to be more traditional, a lot of wood, rich colors, and more ornate details. I am excited about this one, something different than what I have been working on as of late. Here is an example of the granite they are considering for the kitchen. It has amazing movement to it and the flecks of mica make it shimmer like a bed of diamonds....and I REALLY like diamonds.

These homes are at the boring stage, electrical, heating, and plumbing rough-in...not too much to chat about here or images to share. Drywall is starting soon, so once that gets going it will pick up full steam ahead!
Our House
FINALLY, finally the excavation is complete. A builders home is like a mechanics car, it is the last thing to be worked on, the customers always take priority. While I hope that it doesn't go at a slugs pace I know it will not go at super sonic speed either. I guess I should start looking for a rental home since we are moving out in 5 weeks, EKKK!
When we went out to the lot last night we drove up the driveway and there were 6 beautiful deer standing right there...staring at us wondering who the heck we were. As Rob got out of the car 2 more jumped out of the hole to join their friends, it was truly a beautiful site.

So that is where we are at for now. I have started the renderings for our home, and go check out THIS post by Heather @ Satisfying Spaces. I was working on our mud room concepts when she posted it and I decided right then and there that a great burst of citrus orange was going to be my feature color for that room. Thanks for the inspiration Heather!! Hope you all have a wonderful day. Mel xo
