Sarah's House week 6

This week in Sarah's House she added on a new structure to the existing home, the space was used for the living room. I am liking this more than the dining room post from last week...but still not loving or inspired by it.

Here is the overview photo of the finished room. They did do a great job with the ceiling detail, it flowed through from the main home to help create the feeling that it was always there.

There was a ton of natural light in this room, something you can never go overboard on in my opinion.

The image on the left looks like someone forgot to stage or accessorize it, very blah. The image on the right is definitely shot from a better perspective but what is with the pinky peach valuer foot stool in the foreground?!?!? It is clashing with the spiced color under the chair rail and the dark red pillow on the striped chair in the background. Not getting that selection at all.

If you can get past the coat of arms (not my thing but I can see why some would be drawn to it) the work on the mantle is great. Nice attention to detail with the dental molding, and I really like how they used a crown molding as a corbel...most note that for future design work.

Lets home next week is better...again. I would still take this room over the dining room from the previous week. I wouldn't be packing my bags in a rush to get to it though.
Hope your Tuesday is filled with lots of sunshine!!! Mel xoxo
